Today’s maker-purchase: rolls of polyimide (Kapton) tape! This stuff is great for a variety of uses around electronics. The silicone-based adhesive means it’s the “high temp” stuff (acrylic adhesives give out at lower temps) and that means it’s good enough to use directly on hot-ends for 3D Printers. Another common use is solder mask. This stuff won’t shrink, peel, or fall off even in molten solder.
I really need to get some wide (120mm) film for a coating for build platforms for printing with ABS, but the narrow stuff is great for holding on thermal insulation and as electrical insulation on high-temp bare nichrome wires.
