Tonight was the monthly RepRap and Makerbot meetup for March. We’ve been meeting at the Columbus Idea Foundry since 2009, but were invited to hold this month’s meetup at the Center of Science and Industry, our local hands-on science and exploration museum. We had a strong turnout as regular meetup members mingled with some of the COSI staff who came to learn more about 3D printing. Several printers of various designs were in operation. I was even able to print an entirely acceptable 20mm calibration cube on my Thing-O-Matic thanks to one of the regular meetup members who just happened to have a 120mm x 120mm bit of plate glass covered in kapton film in his spare parts bin. It fit the aluminum heated build platform plate I made last night perfectly.
Below are a few of the pictures from the evening.
