The second Columbus Mini Maker Faire gets underway this coming Sunday, from noon to 18:00, at the Center of Science and Industry (COSI). Outdoor makers will be set up by the main entrance, and indoor makers will be right inside in the atrium. The event is free and open to all (COSI’s regular exhibits and activites will also be open, at the usual rates for members and non-members).We have dozens of makers lined up: 3D printing, Arduino and Raspberry Pi-monitored Hydroponics, a world class robotics team, blacksmithing, metal casting, laser cutting and much, much more. There are also plenty of hands-on Make-and-Take activities and live demos. We even have a giant Brownie Camera Obscura. Making a return appearance is the Ohio Power Tool Racing Championship, now in its fifth year in Columbus and also the middle stop of the Power Tool Racing “Triple Crown”, in concert with the first Louisville Mini Maker Faire and the first Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire. New this year is the mini maker interactive kids area, including hands-on workshops for Bristlebots, Plushies, and Stop-motion Animations (follow the links to sign up through Eventbrite).
